Red Summer

Hey everyone! Yesterday we discussed how movies influence opinions on various racial stereotypes. We analyzed "Birth of a Nation" as an example to how African Americans were depicted in 1910s America. We then discussed the rise of the Ku Klux Klan and the Great Migration.

For homework, I gave each student a packet on a specific race riot during Red Summer of 1919. Please read through your specific riot and write a summary of your event. We will discuss in class.

Have a great day!
